Alison and I got together on Sunday and decided to scrapbook. My aunt and uncle's birthdays are coming up and I wanted to make them something special. So, I decided to make them a garland. I hope they enjoy our family garland. Alison and I had a great time working on these!

So, I was driving to work this morning and this hilarious song came on the radio while I was listening to 102.5's Flashback Friday. I had the song stuck in my head all day. So, when I got home, I looked it up to see what it was actually called. I think this is now my new favorite song. Check out the you tube song and music video.

These are my latest cards. When I got home from work last night I was really tired and did not feel like hanging out with anyone. So, I just got into my pj's and worked on some spring cards to add to my collection. I have to say, I like how they turned out. I am actually trying to sell some of my stuff on etsy.com right now. So, if you are interested in the cards I have made or just want to check out the website it is www.etsy.com

My business name is riksybusiness
My friend Megan also has some pretty cute stuff on her website as well, her business name is

Scrapbooking

Yesterday it was my turn to host the monthly scrapbook day. Friends from school came, my old roommate came, and Alison's mom even came to join the fun. People started coming over around 3:00 and everyone just brought their own projects to work on and a snack to share. We had an awesome time, the last people left around 10:30. I was working on a Spring garland the entire day, and actually managed to finish it last night.

Multiplication Tests

So, I was trying to come up with a creative way to get my students motivated to pass their timed multiplication tests. I was reading The Mailbox (a teacher magazine) and there was a really cute idea in there. I made little cars for each one of my students. Every time they pass a test, they get a key for that number. Example: if a student passes their 1's, they will get a key that has a number 1 on it. When I was explaining this to my students they were so excited, except for my one really smart GATE kid. He asked, "What happens when you get all your keys?" Well, I hadn't thought that far yet, so I told him I would have to think of something. So, I decided that when a student gets all of their keys, they will get their "Driver's License". I used my Cricut (really cool scrapbook thing), to make a fake I.D. that the students can put their face into and then I will take their picture. When I showed the students my awesome creation, they were so excited and now they even go home and practice their multiplication facts! Love it!
