Day 132: Picture This

Our challenge for today was to use this image as inspiration for our card. So, I took the idea of a birthday cake and made a birthday card, I know it's not very original but who couldn't use an extra birthday card. You can't tell (in the pictures) but the paper has a couple of glitter features and I added some rhinestones on top of a couple of party hats. The embellishment that I used in the middle of the card is a shiny sticker that says presents.

Gotta love the rhinestone party hat in the corner!
And I love this pink and blue polka-dot ribbon!

My friend is Pregnant

My really good friend Rebecca is pregnant. Her and her husband have been trying to get pregnant and it finally happened! Woohoo! I am very excited for her and decided that I wanted to send her something nice. I saw pregnancy journals on etsy and thought about buying one, but then I decided that I should just try to make my own. It doesn't have any of the cute journal pages on the inside, just blank pages. Overall I really liked how my project turned out. I still need to figure out how I want to keep it together. I might be able to bind it, using one of my friends BindItAll machines (I think that's what it's called). Anyway, I thought I would share my project with you.

I absolutely love the black and white paper I used on the front cover. To make it more sturdy, I used tag board under the paper. I used black sparkle paper and a white brad for the tab. The bottom ribbon is black with red cherries on it. I used my Cricut to cut out the letters.
Second trimester

For the 3rd trimester, I used red and white polka-dot ribbon, on top of it is a white a red polka-dot flower and a large black button.
This is the back of the 3rd trimester page. I just added a bow and a red button so it didn't look unfinished.
This is the back of the journal.

Day 131: Ad Inspired

Today's challenge is to take the image from this ad and use it as your inspiration for your card.

Here is my ad inspired card:

I used the red and white polka-dot paper to represent the little girls robe. I used the blue ribbon the white stitches on it to represent the little boys robe. Then I found the cute "Life's a beach" sticker and thought that would represent the water and fish. When I think of Dr. Seuss books, it makes me smile, hence the word "Smile" on the card. I thought it went together pretty well. "Life's a beach, smile." I added the rhinestones onto the card to represent the window and mirror in the ad. I had a lot of fun using this ad as my inspiration and I think my card turned out very cute.

Day 130: That Tickles Me

Today's Challenge:
I feel like having a good laugh, so let's see some humorous cards. I personally find them challenging, so I think that is all I will ask for: It might make us laugh, but should definitely make us smile :)

I had a tough time coming up with an idea for this card. I did not have any cute stamps like everyone else and I didn't have any funny stickers, so I came up with this:

I used my "Paper Doll Dress Up" Cricut Cartridge to cut out the cute little pirate boy, then added the joke question: "Why did the pirate cross the road?"
Then on the inside of the card, I used the same brown polk-a-dot paper as the front and added the answer to the joke: "To get to the second-hand shop!!!" HAHAHA!

I thought this card ended up being pretty cute!!!!! And who doesn't love pirate jokes?

Day 127:Super Sketchy Sunday

I have been on vacation since last Wednesday. Now that I am back in town, I am ready to get back into the challenge. The first one I did was for Sunday. Our challenge was to follow this sketch:

And here is my creation from that sketch:
I used three different black and pink pattern papers. I distressed the edges and used black chalk around each paper, to make them stand out a little more. I used a black polk-a-dot ribbon across the middle, with an "adore" embellishment. Above the ribbon are 5 square rhinestones. I love how this card turned out.
